About David Taylor Coffey
Hailing from Connecticut, David Taylor Coffey's music has flirted with genres such as Americana, folk, and alternative, since he was a teenager. Upon learning a few basic chords from his father, he quickly hit the ground running writing his own songs and performing at open mics. Having played classic rock with his father, folk music on his own, and punk with various bands, he has developed a unique and versatile sound that has earned comparisons to artists such as Frank Turner, Bob Dylan, and Phil Ochs.
David's versatility has earned him many opportunities to perform across the country. He can just as easily play a cover set in a high-class restaurant as he can belt out original songs in a rock & roll venue. Very much self-made, he has booked tours and promoted events for himself and others, taking the initiative to build connections and actualize his dreams and passions.
David's lyrics present gut-punching honesty cushioned with sharp wit and comforting empathy, and his live performances hit harder than a 20-person orchestra. Come to a show, and you'll be singing along by the first song.
